Hello & Welcome. I’m Gibby, the Dyslexic Superhero Guide.
Dyslexia is a Superpower. So yes that means your kid is an awesome Dyslexic Superhero and a member of a tribe of badasses. Do you believe me? Awesome if you’ve drunk the Kool-Aid. Want to, but aren’t there yet? It’s totally ok if you think saying it’s a positive is a load of codswhallop. That’s what I first thought when someone said it to me. I know it can be hard to see the upside when you’re in the trenches facing any number of challenges including reading, writing, homework, self-confidence, and motivation.
No matter whether you’ve just found out your child has dyslexia or you’ve been on this journey for years, parenting a dyslexic child can be frustrating, worrying, and stressful. Of course it’s also incredible seeing their superpowers in action (don’t worry if that hasn’t happened yet). Wherever you are on this journey and however you currently see your child’s dyslexia you’ve come to the right place. Just like a tour guide for an expedition I’m here to help make your journey smoother. Let’s dive in, shall we?
P.S. A good place to start is my free Re-Framing Dyslexia Guide. It’s a fun activity to do with your child and is a great confidence booster.

About Gibby

I grew up thinking what (sadly) many dyslexics do: that I was stupid because my peers and younger sibling were able to do everything school related faster and better than I could.
When in my early twenties I discovered that dyslexia is actually a superpower I became determined to spread that message with the intention that no other kids grow up thinking there’s something wrong with their brain (because there isn’t 🙂
My mission is to create a word where no dyslexic thinks they are stupid because their brain works differently.
This is my magical land where I’m shouting from the roof tops dyslexia’s true identity and supporting the community with a number of recourses and tools. Welcome 🙂
